About
An open record of results on the Erdős problems
This site records results on the problems posed by Paul Erdős. For each problem, it sets out what is known, what remains open and the evidence behind each result. Researchers can discuss approaches and submit proofs, whether they work by hand or with AI tools.
Relationship to erdosproblems.com
The problems, their numbering and their statements come from erdosproblems.com, the catalog maintained by Thomas Bloom. Statements are quoted with credit, and each problem page links to its counterpart on erdosproblems.com.
In October 2026, erdosproblems.com paused comments and proof claims on individual problems and stopped displaying whether problems are open or solved. Bloom wrote that sites for recording proofs should exist, separate from a site that presents the questions, and that he does not intend to run one himself. This site serves that purpose. It is operated independently and does not imply his endorsement.
Problem status
Each problem is marked open, claimed or solved. A problem is open when no result settling it has been recorded, and claimed when a proposed solution has not yet met the standard for solved. It is solved when a result settles it, supported by a refereed publication, a documented acceptance outside this project or a verified Lean proof.
Status reflects the evidence on record, not a judgment of the mathematics itself.
Discussion and proof claims
The site can be read without an account. Signed-in users can comment on problems and submit proof claims, listing the contributors and tools involved. Moderators review each claim before it is published. Publication does not verify a proof or change a problem's status.
Sources
The site is built from the open-source erdos repository, which records each result with its authors, sources and evidence, alongside a library of related papers and Lean proofs. The repository can also be browsed in the Wiki.
